Running shoes are an athlete’s number one piece of equipment. Investing in appropriate footwear will be the best prevention for injuries. Shoes will last 300-500 miles, so runners can get a full season out of them. Spikes may be worn for races; spike lengths will vary depending on terrain. Not all runners are ready for racing flats; please see a coach before making a purchase.
Runners are expected to wear the team singlet and black shorts for all races. A t-shirt may be worn under the singlet if desired. Some races have stricter uniform guidelines than others and teammates who do not match may not be able to participate. Please always come prepared to wear your singlet and solid black shorts or leggings.
Synthetic (non-cotton) weave socks will help prevent blisters. Synthetic fabrics will also wick moisture better than 100% cotton. You can find these types of shirts at sports stores or Walmart and Target. Have warm clothing for warm up and cool down when the weather is chilly. This helps keep the body from chilling and getting stiff.
