Parking: (Consider Overflow Parking!)

There are only about 600 parking spots in the parking lot for McAlpine Creek Park and there are Championship Varsity races before our races. When you get on Monroe Road and see the cars backed up please know that, yes, that is all traffic for our race!

This is a very big race.

To handle the traffic, overflow parking is at East Mecklenburg High School, 6800 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC, which is 2 miles north of the park. There will be shuttle buses from the High School to the park all day. Please pack your patience and allow some extra time for the shuttle.

Other Details:

Team Tent:
Once inside the park follow the flow of people over the bridge and find our Team Tent to the right.

Restrooms:
Restrooms are limited. There are primarily porta-potties. There is one full restroom facility near the main park entrance off of Monroe Road.

Vendors:
There will be t-shirts for sale, as well as food and clothing vendors.

Course:

This is an old established course, though not as flat and fast as Metrolina. A true cross country course with some interesting hills, a bit of gravel, often a lot of dust, and some wooded areas. There’s a hill before the lake and then the last mile is a figure 8 around the lake and the back soccer fields.

Awards:

The top 21 in each race will receive awards. In keeping with the hunting theme, the winner receives a Hare trophy, the runner-up receives a Hound trophy, and all 21 top finishers receive dog-tags.
