Plank for Popcorn
It’s almost time for our final challenge of the season: a plank competition! We will be crowning a King and Queen of Planks (High School) and a Prince and Princess of Planks (Middle School) on October 20th following practice.
The Challenge Part 1: Popcorn!
Anyone able to hold a plank position for 2 full minutes will get a bag of popcorn!
The Challenge Part 2: King and Queen
The male and female athlete able to hold a plank position the longest will be crowned King and Queen of Planks/Prince and Princess of Planks.
The Ground Rules:
For a true plank your body should be in a straight line from head to toe with your core engaged. Your shoulders should also be in a straight line with your elbows or wrists.
- You must choose your plank position, elbows or palms, at the start.
- If you switch you’re out.
- If the hips sag you’re out.
- If the hips rise up too high you’re out.
- After 3 minutes those remaining will have a cup of water placed on their backs. If it falls, you’re out.
